The streets of Latvia’s capital, Riga, are filled with street performing jazz cats, some melody manglers and artsy instrumentalists. But none rival Marija the dancing lady of Riga.

Local website www.IMlocal.LV quotes Marija as saying that after the death of her husband,
“[I] came up with this idea myself. I love fast rithyms. My health has improved and dancing is like going to the gym!”
She goes on to say, “All I need is the natteries for my boom box and new shoes now and then.
I come from the streets, free and independent. I will be dancing as long as I’m destined and that is fully in God’s hands.”
