Ship Arrives To Serve Pacific Islands
On September 21, 2013 a small vessel received a huge welcome from 700+ people, two Polynesian canoes, a Hawaiian protocol ceremony and much excitement on the Kailua Kona pier. The sailboat arrived with representatives of Hawaiian churches and the family of Henry Opukahia, Hawaii’s first Christian.
The missionaries aboard will use this sailboat to reach out to remote islands of the Pacific.
Kahu Billy Macomber of Kahikolu Church said, “I believe that, well, this is history! God is revisiting Kailua.”
